The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) mobilises global expertise to implement practical solutions for sustainable development. It focuses on advancing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through research, education, and policy initiatives.
JCF has established a partnership with the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), led by Professor Jeffrey D. Sachs. The partnership constituted a USD $10 million endowment, and funded the establishment of the Jeffrey Sachs Center (JSC) on Sustainable Development at Sunway University. JSC is a regional centre of excellence for research and policy practice, creating world-class programmes to train a new generation of students, practitioners and policy leaders; and develop linkages with major Malaysian and international universities in joint problem-solving around the Sustainable Development Goals. JCF has gifted another USD $10m to establish the Asia headquarters of the United Nations SDSN at Sunway University. The commitment towards sustainability has led Sunway City Kuala Lumpur to house the SDSN Centre for Asia, joining New York City and Paris as the three United Nations SDSN centres in the world to coordinate continent-wide sustainability initiatives.
