Growing up in a single parent background, money was tight and a major concern. Coming from a small town, the thought of studying at Sunway College and the city alone was daunting. However, with the support and encouragement from my family, friends and the counselling team, I was able to graduate from Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) programme and subsequently the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) three years later. I would like to thank the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation for awarding me the Community Scholarship as well as and Sunway College for changing the course of my life and helping me achieve my dream of becoming an accountant.
