Scholarship Application FAQs
- Who can request for scholarship application?
The scholarship awards are open to Malaysian Citizens who wish to pursue their tertiary education at local public, private as well as top-ranked international universities.
- How do I submit my application
Applicants must submit their application on the online form at https://jeffreycheah.foundation/scholarship-online-form
- What are the requirements to apply for this scholarship?
- Malaysian citizens below 21 years of age
- Minimum 10As in SPM (English & 5 other core subjects)
- Minimum CGPA 3.30 or equivalent in STPM, Foundation, Matriculation or Pre-University
- Household income of not more than RM150,000 per annum
- To pursue full-time undergraduate studies (Year 1 enrolment in 2021) at local, private as well as top-ranked international universities
- Applicants must have secured an unconditional/conditional letter of offer from the university
- Personable individuals who have held leadership roles in extra-curricular activities, resilient and strive for excellence
- Possess good communication skills and proficient in English
- Must not be bonded to or a recipient of any other scholarship or award from other educational institutions, organisations or foundations
- What documents are needed to be submitted?
- Recent passport-size photograph
- Certified true copy of your National Registration Identification (NRIC)/MyKad
- Certified true copy of your SPM certificate or equivalent
- Certified true copy of your STPM certificate or equivalent
- Certified true copy of your undergraduate studies examination results, if applicable
- Certified true copy of School Leaving certificate
- Certified true copy of your school testimonials and certificates of participation in extracurricular activities.
- Certified true copy of an unconditional/conditional letter of offer from the university
- Certified true copy of your parents’ recent pay-slips, latest Income Tax Statement or any other proof of income
- Any other relevant documents
- How do I submit / attach all my documents into the application form?
- Please combine all documents (as listed in item #4) into one (1) PDF file. You can use any online application to combine all your PDF files into 1 PDF file. Please note that you can upload only one (1) PDF file as your supporting document.
- How long would it take to get a reply on my application?
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Shortlisted candidates can expect to be contacted in June.

- When is the application open for submission?
Applications are open for submission from the 8th of March 2021
- When is the last date to send in my application?
The closing date for applications is the 10th of May 2021
- What are the requirements to maintain granted scholarships?
Candidates will be required to maintain results equivalent to Second Class (Upper) or 2:1 for each semester of their degree.
- What would scholarship recipients gain from the JCF-Sunway Group Scholarship?
Apart from tuition fees, accommodation and living expenses, candidates will be offered development opportunities such as internships and mentoring, and will be placed in Sunway Group of companies upon completion of their studies.
- I would like to donate for the cause. Who can I contact?
Thank you for your generous donation. There are two way to donate:-
- By Cheque made out to the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation. Please submit the Cheque form under the Donation tab (https://jeffreycheah.foundation/donation/donation-eform/) and email a copy of your bank-in slip to info@jeffreycheah.foundation.
- By Online Banking. Please submit the Online Banking form under the Donation tab (https://jeffreycheah.foundation/donation/donation-eform/)
